The excellent Brazil Naval Blog has a chart up that summarizes Russian Naval construction activity for 2007. Even if you can't read Portuguese I would encourage people to leverage the Google Translator Tool every now and then and stop by that blog, those interested in naval activities in South America will find it well worth their time.Below is the chart, more information available here. The chart is a bit difficult to read, but you can save it and increase the size to get a better look.
One thing that really stuck out for us was Russia worked on repairs and modernization of 14 submarines in 2007 and were building another 8 new ones. The chart does not appear to include the project 20120 'secret submarine' and also doesn't appear to include vessels being built or modernized for India.Noteworthy regarding the surface fleet, Russia is currently building 8 new surface combatants, but they are 6 corvettes and 2 frigates. However, Russia is also modernizing 1 nuclear battle cruiser and 4 destroyers.
Interesting chart.
