The Conversation Will Be Web 2.0 Enabled

The Navy is evolving the communication strategy for its "Conversations with the Country" on Thursday, adding a web 2.0 component that may allow for the conversation to become interactive.

MarineLink is running the full press release for the Conversation in North Carolina. Noteworthy, anyone will be able to participate, because the symposium will be carried live on Blog Talk Radio.

The Navy deserves a lot of credit for evolving this process, and opening it up to a larger audience. As someone who has helped businesses develop an online presence in the past, experience suggests this is a great start, and it should be evaluated from the perspective of a starting point in terms of outreach.

The inclusion of Blog Talk Radio and the great folks over at DoDLive means the sessions will likely be made available via podcast, but I'm just guessing based on my experience in blogger roundtables with the DoDLive folks. This process would virtually eliminate all the complaints we have made in the past regarding these "Conversations with the Country," because it leaves people several options for accessibility, both live and recorded.
